Happy Tuesday! We’re back again with another amenity center reveal - The River House at Crane Island. You might have already heard of Crane Island’s Southern Living Idea House, which was built and on display over a year ago. This amenity center serves the community and residents of Crane Island.
exterior
The client/developer designed this whole community to have a low country aesthetic since it’s surrounded by marsh and waterways. The exterior entrance of the clubhouse has an expansive wrap around porch and a custom barn door. We added a few rocking chairs for additional seating and to accentuate the low country vibe.
CLUB ROOM
This space is small but powerful. The 22ft vaulted ceilings boast custom beams with metal details and white-washed tongue and groove. We incorporated shiplap throughout the entire space to keep with the coastal, cottage aesthetic. The client wanted a very clean, streamlined fireplace so we decided not to add a mantle and ran the flooring right up to the open fireplace for a hearth would’ve been too traditional.
We chose to wrap the island with the same brick from the fireplace to really conjoin the spaces. Blue cabinets were selected for the kitchen, and the head designer chose to break up all the cabinetry with a raw, maple base cabinet for the farmhouse sink.

THE POOL DECK
The Club Room and Fitness are separated by a large breezeway that takes you right out to the pool deck and the amazing views of the intracoastal waterway. We kept the exterior and furniture neutral to really let the beauty of nature do the talking.
the fire pit
The client wanted as many seating areas as possible to enjoy this gorgeous view of the marsh. One smaller, secluded area is the fire pit. Throughout the club room and pool deck we used a mixture of grey and warm wood tones. We have a rounded, grey teak outdoor sofa with matching chairs which really blend in with its surroundings. We utilized darker Adirondacks along the shoreline for more secluded seating.
fitness
Who says a fitness room can’t be beautiful? Like the Club Room, we utilized shiplap around the entire Fitness room. Since this room is on the smaller side, the design team chose floor to ceiling windows to allow natural light flow through the space. It also creates a great moment for the treadmills to over look the pool deck and onto the marsh.
