NeoCon 2026 Recap: The Rise of Plum & Burgundy

Rich, expressive color took center stage as our team explored the latest trends in commercial interiors.

Our FF&A team members, Jade, Kristin, and Brittany, along with our Director of Commercial Interiors, Victoria, recently attended NeoCon 2026 in Chicago to experience the latest innovations, products, and design trends shaping the future of commercial interiors.

One trend emerged time and time again throughout the showrooms: the resurgence of rich plum and burgundy tones. From upholstery and wallcoverings to textiles and accent finishes, these sophisticated hues were featured across a wide range of applications, bringing warmth, depth, and character to commercial environments. The color palette felt both timeless and fresh, offering a welcome shift toward more layered and expressive interior spaces.

Beyond color, our team explored a variety of exciting product innovations. Playful tile collections, elevated flooring finishes, and marble-inspired broadloom carpets showcased new ways to introduce texture and visual interest into a space. Flexible modular furniture systems continued to evolve, providing adaptable solutions for today's changing workplace needs, while advancements in acoustic products demonstrated how performance and aesthetics can work seamlessly together.

NeoCon remains an invaluable opportunity for our team to connect with industry partners, discover emerging products, and stay ahead of evolving design trends. We are excited to bring these insights back to our projects and continue creating thoughtful, innovative spaces that reflect the future of commercial design.

A special thank you to Jade, Kristin, Brittany, and Victoria for representing Micamy Design Studio and bringing back inspiration from one of the industry's most influential design events.
